Assisted Living In Oklahoma

The term “Assisted Living” is not defined by the size of the building, but by the care and services that are being provided for two or more individuals either in a large facility or home type setting (as long as the individual needing care is not related to the operator). In both settings specific services can be coordinated and provided, such as help with all ADLs, (personal hygiene, mobility, eating, dressing, toileting, and behavior management) in addition to medication management, transfer assistance or ambulation. Often other communities which provide other services, such as Skilled Nursing, or Dementia/Alzheimer’s Care or Day Care Services are located within the Assisted Living community. By being able to provide a continuum of care, relocation is not necessary for short term health care issues.
There are numerous Assisted Living Communities of various sizes in the Oklahoma's Metropolitan areas, its suburbs and mid-sized cities. The newer Assisted Living regulations in Oklahoma may well bridge the gap between Residential Care Homes and Nursing Home Facilities.
Assisted Living in Oklahoma is 100% private pay and does not accept Medicaid or Medicare funds at this time. Long term care insurance and private funds in the amount of at least $2300 per month can be expected depending upon the individual care needs and the particular facility.
