Nevada Senior Care Choices
Nevada has the following facility license designations or terms:
Adult Group Homes (AGC): This designation describes any facility that provides assistance and limited supervision for three or more elderly or disabled individuals. This includes what in many areas is known also as an “Assisted Living” facility or community. Care providers with this licensure normally offers assistance with “daily living tasks” such as bathing, getting dressed, taking medications, cooking, housekeeping, laundry and ambulation.
Within The Senior Care Guide we have divided this group into two areas for your convenience: Adult Family Homes and Assisted Living or Residential Care. You will find all licensed AGC facilities under the Assisted Living category, but we have set up a separate area for those facilities that have a licensed capacity of 6 or less. Normally these smaller facilities will be found within residential neighborhoods and may appear very much like a normal home. Those that are larger may perhaps offer more socialization opportunities.
AGZ – Adult Group Care for Alzheimers: These facilities are licensed to care for those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
HIC – Home for Individual Care: These are small homes licensed to care for no more than 2 individuals.
SNF: Skilled Nursing Facility
ICF: - Intermediate Care Facility (non-skilled Nursing Home): In many of the nursing homes you will find both an ICF & an SNF section.
Adult Day Care (ADC)
