In the lushness and under the Big Sky of Montana a transformation is taking place perhaps faster than any other state in the Union. All census projections point to the fact that Montanans may have the highest percentage of people of the age of 65 by 2025 than anywhere else in the nation. According to the Aging Services Bureau & Long Term Care Division in the state, projections indicate that the 65 and older population will be at least 25% of the state's total population and that many towns within the rural counties will have elder populations which exceed the 30% mark. At the present time there are already 29 communities within Montana where 25% of the population is over 65.
