Long Term Care Insurance

As you look to the future, you dream of financial security and independence in retirement. To make this dream come true, you work hard and invest wisely. But, is that enough?

More of us can expect to need some sort of long-term care.
Half of all Americans now in their 50's will need some long-term care during their lifetime. Many of us will suffer from degenerative conditions and require assistance with even simple tasks. We don't always like to think about this, but this is indeed - reality.

More of us will need help beyond what our family can provide.
As families spread out geographically and more family members work outside the home, relying on the family for informal care may not always be possible.

Long term care costs are rising.
The average cost of a nursing home stay in 2000 was $44,100 per year. Although Adult Family Home costs were perhaps lower, their costs also continue to rise as does Assisted Living Facilities around the country. Predictions indicate that by the year 2030 the cost of convalescent care may well rise to $190,600 per year.

Savings may not be enough.
With costs so high and continuing to escalate, long term care can quickly deplete your savings. Possibly no other expenses can have a more devastating impact on your assets and independence.

It boils down to one growing risk.
Though you have saved and planned ahead, if you have not planned with Long-Term Care Insurance, the lifestyle you have always dreamed of - and the assets you have worked so hard to save - may end up not being there after all.

Long-Term Care Insurance is not a "one-size-fits-all" product.
Find a Long-Term Care agent and company that will not only represent top carriers, but also helps you examine your needs to create a Long-Term Care Plan that is right for you. Make sure the plan covers the various types of senior care that is now available in most States, including In-Home Care, Adult Family Homes, Assisted Living, and Nursing Home care. Pick an agent that will take the time to listen and truly assist you in making the most informed decision possible.
