Assisted Living Facilities are regulated and monitored by the Arizona Division of Licensing Services, with an inspection once a year. Complaints and compliance issues are dealt with, as needed. If a facility receives a deficiency-free re-licensing survey, it may receive a two-year license. All visits are unannounced other than the initial licensing visit.
Assisted Living is a residential care facility that provides or contracts to provide supervisory care, personal care, or directed care on a continuing basis.
The following are types of assisted living facilities in Arizona:
- Adult Foster Care Homes (care for up to 4 people in a private home setting) The home owner must live in the home.
- Assisted Living Homes (care for up to 10 people)
- Assisted Living Centers (care for 11 or more people)
- Adult Day Health Care Facilities (care for 5 or more people during a portion of a continuous 24-hour period.
